The movie also won for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Original Song for “Jai Ho,” Best Film Editing, Best Cinematography, and Best Sound Mixing.
“The Hurt Locker,” directed by Kathryn Bigelow, won Best Original Screenplay and Best Sound Editing. Jeff Bridges was awarded Best Actor for his role in “Crazy Heart,” while Sandra Bullock took home the Best Actress award for her performance in “The Blind Side.”
Other notable wins included Christoph Waltz for Best Supporting Actor in “Inglourious Basterds” and Mo’Nique for Best Supporting Actress in “Precious: Based on the Novel by Sapphire.”
The animated feature “Up” received the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, and “The Cove” won for Best Documentary Feature.
