Whoopi Goldberg returned to her hosting duties on “The View” after a two-week absence.,She spent the time filming a guest role on the Italian soap opera “Un Posto Al Sole.”Whoopi Goldberg has returned to “The View” after a two-week absence during which she filmed a guest role on the Italian soap opera “Un Posto Al Sole.” Co-host Ana Navarro joked about Goldberg’s return on the Dec. 1 episode, saying, “We should say ‘bienvenuto,’ ’cause I think this b—h has forgotten to speak English.” Goldberg, 70, admitted she was unsure of what language she was thinking in or what time zone she was in. Despite the disorientation, she stated that her time filming in Italy was “really good.” “I learned a lot because I’d never done a soap opera before,” she explained. “And so doing a soap opera in a different language, in a different country, made for a really interesting time. It was great.” Goldberg also sent her cohosts videos from Italy, remarking, “I just wanted y’all to know I was actually working.”
