Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, the top recruit in the 2026 class, is projected to flip his commitment from Georgia to Vanderbilt.,Curtis, a physical runner with excellent size, has been committed to Georgia since May but Vanderbilt has recently emerged as a strong contender.Georgia Bulldogs’ top commitment in the 2026 class, five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, is projected to flip to an SEC school. According to 247Sports’ Tom Loy, Curtis is projected to commit to the Vanderbilt Commodores.
Vanderbilt has been actively pursuing Curtis, hosting him for the Missouri game this season and more recently, he attended the Georgia-Texas game.
Curtis is currently the No. 1 recruit in the 2026 recruiting cycle, ranked as the top quarterback and the best prospect in Tennessee. He plays high school football for Nashville Christian and is noted for his physical running ability and excellent size at 6-foot-4, 225 pounds.
Curtis initially committed to Georgia in May over Oregon, but Vanderbilt has recently become a significant contender for the talented signal-caller.
Should Curtis decommit from Georgia, the Bulldogs may need to seek alternative quarterback options for the 2026 class, potentially including a transfer quarterback. However, Georgia has depth at the quarterback position, with the possibility of the entire quarterback room returning next season, including Gunner Stockton.
In related recruiting news, three-star quarterback recruit Michael Mitchell decommitted from Vanderbilt on November 21.
Vanderbilt currently holds the No. 47 recruiting class in the country with 20 commitments. Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class is ranked third nationally with 30 commitments.
