Launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Mangalyaan reached Mars on September 24, 2014, becoming the first country in the world to do so in its maiden attempt. The mission was initially designed for a lifespan of six months.
Despite its planned duration, the spacecraft has continued to function and send back valuable scientific data, demonstrating the robustness of Indian space technology. The data collected by Mangalyaan has contributed significantly to our understanding of the Martian surface, atmosphere, and mineralogy.
