“See you Sunday night!” Singleton, 31, captioned a photo of himself running out of the tunnel at Mile High.
Singleton had shocked the league earlier this month when he announced that a random NFL drug test helped detect signs of the cancer. He underwent surgery only a matter of hours after playing in the Broncos’ 10-7 “Thursday Night Football” win over the Raiders in Week 10.
Elevated levels of the hormone hCG were detected, which caused concern because it was not from an external source, as Singleton stated he was diligent about what he consumed. He decided to share his story to raise awareness and encourage others to seek regular screenings.
“Thankfully, we believe the cancer was caught early with a great prognosis for me and my family,” Singleton said in a statement. “While we are still awaiting some additional test results, I fully expect to return to the field in the coming weeks.”
The linebacker missed only one game since his diagnosis — Denver’s win over the Chiefs last week — and is now reportedly game-ready just 23 days after his surgery.
Singleton recorded nine tackles in the Raiders game, contributing to his team-best total of 89 tackles across 10 games in his fourth season with the Broncos. With his quick turnaround, he is expected to have a significant impact on the Broncos’ current season as they lead the AFC West.
